Fast Forward Plots & Property LLC provides forestry mulching and land clearing services in Hart, Michigan, the county seat of Oceana County. Hart is located on Hart Lake near the Silver Lake sand dunes and is a popular destination for tourism and outdoor recreation. Hart is the county seat of Oceana County and one of the most scenic communities in West Michigan. The city sits on the shore of Hart Lake, with the Silver Lake sand dunes and Lake Michigan just a short drive to the west. That combination of inland lake, dunes, and Great Lakes shoreline draws visitors and second-home buyers from across the state — and those properties need maintenance that most landscapers are not equipped to handle.
We see Hart-area properties with a specific set of challenges that differ from the farmland-focused work we do in Shelby or the orchard clearing common around New Era. Here, the work is often about views and access. A cabin owner wants to open up a sightline to Hart Lake from their porch. A vacation property buyer purchased a wooded lot on County Road B-64 and needs a building envelope cleared without destroying the surrounding mature trees. A hunting camp needs trails cut through dense cedar and tag alder to reach their blinds.
Fast Forward Plots handles all of these jobs with a single machine and the precision to clear selectively — taking out the brush and small trees while leaving the hardwoods, pines, and specimen trees that give Hart-area properties their character.
We're 12 miles from Hart — just 15 minutes A fifteen-minute run north on US-31 from our New Era shop — we are practically neighbors.. Ready when you are.
Hart Lake is a 216-acre all-sports lake that sits right in the center of town, and the surrounding residential properties include some of the most desirable addresses in Oceana County. Many of these lakefront lots were developed decades ago when the surrounding timber was thinner, but years of unchecked growth have filled in views and choked access paths. Property owners are often surprised at how much a professional mulching job can transform a lakefront lot — opening up vistas, improving airflow, and eliminating the dead wood that creates fire risk.
To the west, the Silver Lake sand dunes area and the surrounding state forest land create a different set of needs. Properties along the Hart-Montague Trail corridor, near the Charles Mears State Park area, and along the back roads between Hart and Mears often sit on rolling, wooded terrain that can be difficult to clear by conventional means. Steep grades and soft sand make bulldozing impractical. Our tracked mulcher handles slopes and sandy soils that would stop a wheeled machine.
Hart also serves as the gateway for hunters heading to the state land south and east of town. Privately owned hunting parcels in this area frequently need trail clearing, blind-site preparation, and selective thinning to create the browse and cover patterns that hold deer. We work with hunting property owners throughout the Hart area to design and maintain land that produces year after year.
Hart-area properties often sit on rolling terrain between Hart Lake and the Silver Lake dunes, where the vegetation is a dense mix of hardwoods, planted pines, and invasive understory. We selectively clear to open views toward the lake, thin overgrown vacation lots, and create building envelopes on wooded parcels without destroying the mature trees that make Hart properties desirable.
Learn moreVacation properties and cabins around Hart Lake need access roads graded, driveways maintained, and seasonal buildup of brush cleared before the summer crowd arrives. We handle site prep for new construction on the wooded lots along County Road B-64 and throughout Hart Township where builders need clean ground on a tight timeline.
Learn moreWoodlots south and east of Hart see regular timber harvests, and the slash left behind makes properties nearly unusable. We process the broken tops, cull trees, and skid-trail damage into ground-level mulch so landowners can enjoy their property again instead of staring at a mess for the next five years.
Learn moreHunting properties between Hart and the state land to the east benefit from strategically placed food plots that draw deer off public ground. The sandy-loam soils around Hart drain quickly and warm up early, which favors spring clover establishment and fall brassica plantings timed for firearm season.
Learn moreBuyers purchasing wooded lakefront or lake-adjacent lots need building envelopes cleared before construction can begin. We open the site while preserving the trees that frame the lake view.
Years of unchecked understory growth have blocked lake views on many Hart properties. Selective mulching removes the brush and saplings that filled in while leaving the mature canopy intact.
The rolling, wooded terrain between Hart and the Silver Lake dunes is popular hunting ground. We cut trail networks to stands and blinds through dense cedar, tag alder, and second-growth hardwoods.
